Need wiring info for base radio

Hi, Sorry if this is repeated on another thread. I searched and could not find anything directly related.

I need a 12 volt source that is only live when the radio is on. I have the base non HK radio. I want to use this 12 volt source as my amps turn-on lead.

I don't want to loose the ability to turn on the radio when the car is off.

Does such a thing exist?

Thanks,
Rodney

In the factory radio harness, from a 2003 Cooper S here are the factory wire colors and there purpose.

White = Powered Antenna lead
White with Red Stripe & Yellow Dots = Steering wheel controls
Grey with Red Stripe = Illumination
Red with Brown Stripe = 12V+ Constant
Purple with Blue Stripe = 12V+ Switched power
Brown = Ground

So for your application you could use the Purple w/ blue stripe or if you have your amps wired up to the battery directly then you can use the white wire to trigger your amp turn on lead.
