Manic tune and CEL

2012 Mini Cooper S with AEM cold air intake and a custom 2.5" turbo back exhaust with the cat still there. I have had a check engine light on my car for almost 2 years now. I am 95% sure it is a high flow cat error. In my opinion the performance is decreased as well as the gas mileage. I currently get a 25mpg average. My mother has an automatic 2013 R56 and every once and a while I take it for a drive and I usually curse at myself because it just feels like its less boggy than mine. I know a tune will make my car run more efficiently, but the one i want, Manic Mini stage 1, has the closest dealer 4 hours away and their hours are going to be hard for me to swing with my schedule. Is it worth it just to send in my ECU, or is it truly better to drive down there? Can this tune clear my CEL? Also, is this tune as good as people say?

I dont think the stage 1 tune gets rid of CEL since its intended for a stock car. Is your cat a high flow? You need a stage 2 tune to clear the CEL. You should also upgrade your intercooler if you haven't already. Sell the intake and get an intercooler Contact the manic dealer and see what they can do for you. Maybe you can make a weekend trip to see them.
