Electrical K+DCAN cable not recognized by Windows
K+DCAN cable not recognized by Windows
I just bought this cable to try and program my R56 but windows 7 and 10 don't seem to like it.
The red light on the cable comes on for about 45 seconds then goes off.
When I plug it in, windows tells me "USB Device Not Recognized: One of the USB devices attached ot this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." in a popup wndow
It shows as "Unknown Device" in device manager, and trying to do a software update using drivers downloaded from beginners guide say it's already the current version.

I just plugged it into my desktop, and that got the drivers as a usb serial device and another usb device, so it seems to work on my desktop. Problem is, I need this on my laptop and that doesn't seem to work. Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: got it to work. Turns out that these cables don't like usb 3.0 ports, so I had to disable the usb 3 support in my laptop's BIOS and it connects now.

I've got a 2013 R56, and yes I was able to code it successfully after getting the right version of NCSExpert and the datens.
