Halogen, HID, LED?

My 11 MCS has the halogen headlights. Not happy with those, I tried and HID kit, on the left side only. My FRM (left footwell module) did not like this, as the HID's flickered, came on, then went out within 15 seconds or so. OK. Shut everything down, tried again. Same result, but this time with a "buzzing" (not happy fuse-blowing kinda sound) from inside the car! I figured I fried something. Dang! (not my exact words, but....)

Disconnected the battery. Put the halogen headlight bulb back in the left side, so all back to stock. Restarted the car. Now I had low beams only, and my fog lights would not turn on! Geez...time to beg for warranty assistance..."something is wrong with my lights. I have no idea what the problem is. etc."

Disconnected the battery again, took the FRM out of the car, popped it open expecting to see something fried on the circuitboard, or the faint smell of smoke...NOTHING! All looked/smelled fine. Put all back together, reconnected the battery, and HOLY CRAP, it all worked just fine again!

OK, so lesson learned, right? Nope! Still looking to find a headlight bulb set to match my LED foglight bulbs. Yes, I get the "bulb-out" message with my LED foglight bulbs, but they work just fine, and make my headlights look like parking lights!

Soooo....has anyone tried LED 9008/H13 headlight "bulbs"? I know they may throw a "bulb-out" message, but I can live with a little exclamation point next to my trip odometer in order to get better lighting. I have been looking at Cree LED 9008/H13 bulb kits on eBay, just wondering if anyone has tried these, and what the results were. If no one has tried, I suppose I will make myself the example, whether good or bad!

If you have read through my entire ramblings, thank you. And please feel free to reply or send me a PM.

I would go get a Oracle Hid kit professionally installed. Both headlights and fogs can be done. Lifetime guarantee and bright as a Nuke.
