Wiring Valentine

I'm hard wiring my Valentine 1 on my 02 MCS and using the Add A Circuit for the fuse hookup. Wondered what fuse location any of you fellas have used on a 02/03? I've read someplace that fuse #10 for the radio works well because it doesn't cut out during starting. Also read that you need to pull one fuse to make sure the V1 works off that fuse alone ???? Don't quite understand that.

I put my detector on the side of the fuse block so it is only on if the car is on to prevent it from slowly draining the battery....with a add-a-fuse, the dectetor will be on its own circuit if wired right...put the add a fuse in the wrong way...on the "protected" side of the fuse it will be in series...a bad thing...so just make sure it is on the "hot side" of the fuse..aka the pre-fuse side that is hot even if the fuse you are piggybacking on is blown.....

Some fuses are always on...
Some are only on when on...or when set to acc...
And unregulated power goes in one side of a fuse...passes through the middle...the part that burns out/blows if there is too much draw....the add a fuse/circuit tap needs to be on the unregulated side...then it has its own fuse....insert it backwards...and it will stop conducting current if the fuse it it piggybacking on blows....
Pretty basic stuff...

The add-a-circuit needs to be put in 'upside down' to function correctly.
See pic in my gallery. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...web-16928.html
The one on the right is in correctly, the one on the left and lower is incorrect.
