Saw a thread somewhere of people chipping in offering to help out with coding, but I didn't see anything remotely close and it was an old thread, so sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I'm not sure where else would be appropriate.

I just did a xenon retrofit on my R56 and I'm trying to figure out when and how I can get them coded. I'm thinking the dealer will charge me a minimum of one hour just for the simple code, and I figured as long as it's getting one thing coded, I'd like a couple other things–(remote windows up, one touch sunroof) So before I bite the bullet, drive an hour, and just have them do it, is there anyone within 30-40 min of the Flint area that would be willing to do it for a reasonable price?

 

Have you tried talking to Detroit Tuned? They are probably about an hour from you, and always more reasonable than the dealership.

Haven't talked to them yet, and I wish they were closer, but its 1h20m drive so it will probably be a last resort

 

As good as Chad is at Detroit Tuned, if he was only 80 minutes from me I'd be visiting him monthly!

 

DT said they can't do the programming, that only the dealer can do it yet. Dealer said it ranges from 2-6 hours for programming, and it was clear they didn't know what coding needed to be done, and quoted me around $186. At this point I'm thinking of putting the halogens back on.

 

I live in West Bloomfield, my guy could do it as he did mine too. Very fast too.
