Electrical Need Tips for Temporary Rally/Driving Light Removal
Need Tips for Temporary Rally/Driving Light Removal
Hey all,
I have a jcw/aero style grill I'd like to install (not the actual aero, but the similar one outmotoring sells). Problem is I have the rally/driving lights installed from the factory. Looks like at minimum these are going to have to come off so I can get the old grill off and the new one on. Does the mounting hardware stay on when I take the existing grill off?
Any tips or links to threads on the easiest way to do this would be helpful. I'm not very electrically inclined to say the least.

Unfortunately the OEM install is not very mod friendly. The brackets are riveted in, and the wiring doesn't have quick disconnects. You'll need to drill out the rivets and cut some of the wiring. Easy enough to crimp on some connectors, but irritating. Unfortunately the remnants of the rivets will remain in the bonnet. When I installed mine I used screws for just that reason.
Thanks Eric! I was looking at those rivets last night and thinking they looked like a pain. I suppose I'll just keep my chrome grill- the wife said she likes it and considering she hates my car, that's something.
