Can you buy an aftermarket projection headlight and replace the 1st gen headlamp and everything works? I.e. Auto leveling, hids, and igniters???

Anyone done this?

My hids apparently I.e. Mini says have a bad igniter and want 900 to replace one headlight

 

Did you ever get your answer on this? I was told in a recent post of mine that the newer 05+ projectors are a direct replacement on the 1st Gens HID as well. I'm looking for someone who's actually done the mod successfully to confirm it's plug n play. Would still be @ $700+ to switch both, but might be worth the upgrade and performance if it indeed works as a direct fit.

 

I too have heard this. And when I have that 700 laying around and I do it. I will definitely post pics until then if anyone has done it and has some pics please share. I'm super interested!

I have the 05 projector xenon on my 03, they are 100% plug and play
