I tried several searches without a clear answer on this.

If someone has a product they are currently using that would be great.

Looking mainly at reading a few engine parameters and code reading without having to hook up my PC.

Yes there is.

I've tried it (demo) at a friends shop in his Audi. Worked really well.

I picked this one up off of Amazon for about $14, then used the Torque app on my Android to do exactly what you are talking about. I have no doubt Torque or a similar app is available for the iPhone.

I used it on my Mini just last night. Works great.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it works with the iphone. For some reason, there are plenty what work with Android, but not iOS. Here's a $30 that works with iOS.

could be wrong but i thought i saw somewhere that there is some goofy restriction in iOS that won't let the BT module work. I know BT headphones work so I cannot explain. Maybe just an internet rumor.

Friend bought the wifi module and the iOS app and it works.

Be careful because not all bluetooth OBD adapters are iPhone compliant (which may be what 05r50 is referring to).

First here is a bluetooth version that is:

http://gopoint-technology.mybigcomme...bt1-for-apple/

You can see these all the time on eBay too. They also have a wired version that will charge your phone. (I bought that version on eBay for $45 shipped)

Then for software, of course 'there's an app for that' by these guys:

http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...hone/index.php

and don't forget to mount it up all nice too:

http://www.cravenspeed.com/smart-phone-mounts/

also while you check out the mounts...notice the bluetooth adapter they have too (near the bottom of the linked page).

Let us know how it goes for you and post pics of your install.

...and I'd be quite happy to sell you the no-longer-made wired version that charges your iPhone...I have it listed in the For Sale section.

Perfect, thanks. Mounting location is going to be tough though. I already have the JCW auxiliary gages, 1 of which is going to be replaced with the water/meth injection gauge, and that reduces my places to put things.

Just a quick heads up...because it'll probably be for a limited time only but right now the app for iPhones: DashCommand – OBD-II gauge dashboards, scan tool, and vehicle diagnostics is 'on sale' for just $9.99 vs. $49.99 usually.

iTunes: http://appshopper.com/link/dashcommand

Keep in mind it also needs a way to communicate with the OBD II (wired or via Bluetooth)

You can use our mounts in conjunction with the JCW gauges, no problem.

In case anyone needs the link for the plug-in sender: OBDII wifi or Bluetooth

This is what I use for my iPhone and DashCommand:

It's really nice quality.

LELink is the best bluetooth low energy obd ii scanner for iPhone. Have been using it to read live data and code for a while. It is white and size is small. Search LELink on ebay, you will see it.

Cause apple don't let you use BT for anything but audio. So I bought a cheap android phone to use for dash command. I have a wifi for iphone but it is a pain to get it to sign in to wifi.
