Non-Equipped Bluetooth... Any Hands-Free Solutions?

So Koopa didn't come with Bluetooth. I don't drive it much so I usually don't have much of a problem with not having Bluetooth in it. I want to drive it more and I know the speakerphone on the iPhone won't do it anymore after a while. Does anyone have a decent solution that won't gut a wallet?

I remember seeing that MINI sells their own Bluetooth Hands-Free Speaker. Don't know if its any good, don't know if its much better than just using the speakerphone.

I'd appreciate any help.

Jabra makes a few models like the one in the picture. The one I have is older but it has a FM transmiter built in. You can pick one of about 10 FM staions it will transmit over and when you get a call you just hit the preset frequency on the radio and you can hear it though the stereo speakers. It also has a speaker built in also. There is probally a better one out. Just google it. Upside is you can use it in any vehicle its portable just clips to the visor.

I haven't had good luck with Jabra accessories. They've never lasted for very long, at least when I had them.

I have an Aux port in my R53 and use this Belkin kit http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F4U037
which works great. The USB port charges my phone and the BT connection plays audio when I'm not on the phone.

For the OEM MINI Bluetooth options:

There is also the MINI Bluetooth headset : which is headset that pairs with your phone.

And last the full kit for certain Gen 2 MINIs. Production: 8/2007 - 8/2010

It will also require the separate ULF module. Check out the pics of the products.

That gives you some options on the OEM MINI side.

Thanks

I use a BluAnt S4 in my Clubman (which has factory Bluetooth), and have always been happy with it.

Thanks so much for all the advice guys. ECS great as always, that's why I order from you guys. I would love to do the OEM retrofit but its pretty dang expensive. I do love it on my Clubman. But out of the options above looks like that Belkin may be the best for me. This is why I love NAM, you get a lot of useful feedback and I try my best to answer PMs or other questions people have. I wish we had the Reputation (Rep) Point function. Thanks a lot to all of you guys above

Mini///M ,

Thanks very much for the kind words. I am glad I could help and we always appreciate your business

The headset version and the visor version are the only other two from MINI. Other then the full kit for Gen 2, which is not too bad of an install compared to the Gen 1 Full Bluetooth which is a little more involved, you maybe have seen the post from Bradnic who did a great job. I have the full kit on the Gen 1 convertible and really like it. The install was some work, but worth it in the end as its more integrated.

Whatever you decide, I am glad I could help, and keep up on the great mods.

Depending on your phone, I've found that the microphone pickup is good enough to just use an aux cable for sound and leave the phone in my lap or dashboard. It's basically a very uncomplicated and nice-sounding speakerphone.

So the OEM kit is only good for Gen2s 8/2007 - 8/2010? I have a 2011 MCS. No OEM for me? Right now all I have is the aux jack for music. I'd like the full bluetooth phone & iPod USB interface.

Just those dates from 8/2007-8/2010. 2011+ MINI does not have a factory integrated kit. Just those headsets and universals.

Now that's customer service... it may take a couple of years, but you get the answer.
