Rallye 3000 headlights

ok,
so i've mounted the lights, i have a switch in the car.

i've got everything wired right i think, but i keep blowing fuses. the only part of the circuit i'm not sure about is the control circuit... where should i be getting my signal from?

i tried using the battery as a source... everything works but when i flip the switch the fuse pops

i have battery going to the switch part of the relay with a (currently) 10 amp fuse (i have 1 15A left, a bunch of 10s and 5s)
that goes to the switch side of the relay
the other side of the switch goes to the lights
the lights then have a ground.

the control side I tried grabbing the signal from the low & high beams, and the battery. either way i wired those to the coil side of the relay
the opposite side of the coil goes to the switch on my dash, then back out to a ground.

any thoughts? i'm hoping to get them working for MOT tomorrow, but I just finished a 14hour shift and I'm beat... any help is greatly apreciated, but i'm gonna have to call it quits soon anyways.

maybe next years MOT? lol
thanks
j.r.

you probably have a bad ground, or a bad circuit. what type of relay and wire harness did you use? and how did you hook it up

I'm trying to locate a good ground under the driver's side knee panel for a driving light switch (has a built-in ON light)

You have a dead short somewhere if it blows when you flip the switch.. The short is between the relay's switch and the lights.

(Edit if wired as a power side switch..)

+ signal > 85 (relay) 86 > switch > ground

Battery + > fuse > 30 ( relay ) 87 > light > ground

I would take the + signal off the high-beam power wire. That way they will only function with the brights. (And be road legal).

There should be a good ground lug under the kick panel.. If not make one. Drill/nut/bolt
