H7 Low Beam Replacement

I'm looking to get 6000k low beams for my halogen 05' MCS. I keep seeing these cheap $10 bulbs online from china. My question is, what's the difference between the cheap-o's or the silver star bulbs i've been hearing so much about?

Forget the 6K bulbs - they're bluer but dimmer.
The best H7 replacement bulb is the 65W Osram Ultra High Output
(2100 lumen, H9 burner on H7 base).
Stock H7 bulb is only 1500 lumens.

You can find them about 2/3 the way down this page:

Oh, and does anyone know if it's possible to replace the plastic headlight cover/lense? It's all scratched up, while my other one is brand new.

Issue is FINDING the cover....not sold separately. You can try one of the polishing kits...they tend to work pretty good.

Awesome! Finally someone on a forum who knows that the hell they're talking about when it comes to lighting.

Yes, forget ANY bulb with a tint. All it does is rob the bulb of light output. 'Doesn't matter who makes it.

And for the above recommended bulb. I've got HID low beams but I run that bulb in my high beams. It's awesome and by far, the very best choice out there. And yes, it's exactly as described. A honest high output 65 watt H9 bulb on an H7 base. Works perfectly.

And read all Daniel's tech articles. You'll learn a lot about vehicle lighting.

I bought mine here (Daniel is somehow associated with them as well): http://store.candlepower.com/osraulhiouh7.html
