ACC connection?

Without going through the firewall to tap to fuse box....is there somewhere within the engine compartment where I can tap to, to get ACC connection? I want to connect a circuit where the power will be cut when the car is off/ key off.

As they say on JEPORDARY, can you please rephrase the question?
You looking for an ALWAYS ON DC spot to tap? Cars are dc, and you need an inverter to make ac....so no always on ac.
ACC??

What I meant by "ACC connection" is accessory connection. It would be powered when the key is in ON position. No power when key is in OFF.

With other cars, I usually find that connection by the driver kick panel, fuse panel. One example of its use, is to control the on/off of an aftermarket stereo head-unit.

As for R56, I think to access into the passenger compartment requires removing the wipers, taking off the plastic cover, then fishing the wiring through the grommet to get inside the car..... I don't want to do all that.

I'm hoping there is somewhere else I can use inside the engine compartment.

I just read an old post that someone had used the "R4 fuse" inside the engine compartment to do something similar. But the poster doesn't know what that particular fuse does exactly. Furthermore, even though power does get cut from that location, after key off, the time ranges from 10 sec to 10 minutes for power to be cut. I don't want to mess with that.....

Why don't you just connect to the cigarette lighter outlet?

Cigarette lighter outlet means the one inside the car? If so, that is still running the wiring through the firewall.... what I didn't want to do due to the trouble of removing so many covers to get to the firewall.

Well, anyways, I figured a way to run wire into the car without removing wipers and covers..... just go on the side through the gap between front wheel well and door. I hid the wire behind the weather strip on the door. Only about two inches of wire will be visible. I use a fuse tap to get power from 20A lighter fuse for n ACC type connection.

Oops, I didn't read your initial post closely enough and assumed you were looking for power INSIDE the car. Just curious, what are you trying to power up under the hood?
