Running light doesnt work?

Cant figure out whats going on with my tail light. At night when I have my lights on the running light in my left tail light wont come on but the break light will when I press on the break pedal. I have checked the fuse and replaced the bulb also. Whats going on? Any help is appreciated.

Use a volt meter on those metal strips, see of there's voltage.
If so, check the ground line, see if that's connected.

Verify your ground is good. MY 76 Camaro did this once, ground wire had corroded through.

Sorry for the late reply guys. Thanks for the help. The ground wire is in good shape. I'll have to check the metal strips once I hook my battery again. My car has been down for repairs. If it is the metal strips that are causing the problems would I have to buy a new one?

its prolly just bent or something. check voltage first. its possible it got bent somehow and just isnt touching the bulb.

Still cant figure out what is going on. I have come down to that it has nothing to do with the bulb or the strip, what it connects to. I have switched them from side to side and it still doesnt work. Dont know what else i could do now.

On another note, i think the same thing has happened to my front left running light. It doesnt come on and its not cause the bulb or connector is messed up.

So after having my front left running light stop working i had my friend run the BCM and came up with like 5 error codes lol. We checked the the front wiring harness to the running light and found that it had a bunch of electrical tape. Upon undoing it all we found this (below) haha. Have no idea what the OP did. Its all fixed now. Thanks for the help.
