Adding MFSW questions

I know there are some threads on this already, but most are older, so I'm going to ask again: has anyone had any difficulties installing the MFSW and having the dealer reprogram the car for cruise? We have a R55 Cooper S with xenons and without rain-sensing wipers. So other than the MFSW switches, does anyone know if we would need a different wiper/turn switch module? Are most dealers willing to do the re-flash? We'll be taking it in within the next couple of weeks for maintenance and I'd like to have them reprogram it at the time as it's a 500 mile round trip, so I want to be sure everything I need to do is there before I go.
Thanks for any help!

You can try to install just the switches and recode the car to have MFL, but the last car I converted did need the new SZL module (wiper module)

That's the real question: is there any way to tell whether I need the new SZL without pulling the airbag and steering wheel?

No not really as the only way to see the real part number on it would be to take off the steering wheel.

That's a bummer, but it's better than a 500 mile round trip to find out it won't work. Thanks for the info.

I know there is a thread some where here that gives the part number of the correct SZL module for it to work. Buying a used one with that part number is the least expensive way to go as from the dealer they are rather expensive.

I have viewed that thread, just have to find the time to pull the wheel and check my module. It looks like removing the airbag and wheel are straightforward enough.

Help

So I have the MFSW, and it appears I need SZL 61319253769 (my audio controls don't even work.) Okay. But my closest Mini dealer won't do the re-flash. Anyone know of anyone who can do the re-flash between SLC and San Diego? It's gonna be a road trip...
