Seat Airbag Fake-Out?

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know if someone makes some sort of module that plugs into the three airbag connectors under the front seats to fake out the sensor? I would eventually like to put different seats in but I don't want the airbag light to stay on.

Thanks in advance!

-Chris

As far as I know, and from the research I've done, there is no resistor or anything that works to get rid of the light. My stupid light comes on and goes off whenever it feels like it as well. Been off for a couple weeks now, but sure it will come back soon.

The only fixes that I've read about up to this point are:

Replacing the sensor, which requires buying the entire bottom half of the seat from BMW, which is not cheap.

Using NCS Expert, there was a thread about reprogramming the ECU to shut the light off. I don't know how to use NCS Expert yet and haven't had time to read into it a lot, but there have been some people who did it successfully, but if you mess around with it and don't know what you're doing, it could end very poorly, hence I haven't tried it yet

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me! Did you change the seats in your MINI?

Hahaha well did it just come on randomly? Mine was stuck on when I pulled the interior apart for an audio install. I just plugged a diagnostic computer from my auto tech class up and cleared the airbag fault to get rid of it. Obviously, it was a multiple thousand dollar diagnostic computer so you probably won't be doing that on your own but you could probably find a technical college around you with an auto class, I'm sure theyd clear it for you
