Lightbulb Driving Light Bulbs

Does anyone know the bulb type used in the MINI Driving Lights? I want to replace the bulbs with the brightest LEDs I can find, any suggestions? Probably doesn't need resistors because they're add on lights that are most likely not monitored.

On the current-gen OEM Mini Driving Lights (63120417885) for the R60, the bulb is: 12V 55W H3

These are not monitored, so you will be able to run an LED without resistors. Currently, the highest-powered LED H3 is a 7w CREE. I run them in various applications - they look good, but aren't very bright compared to 85w H1/H3s.

There are many threads about the fogs, including a large one I started:

Regarding the bulb type on the R60 fogs, they are H8 bulbs.

Theta, do you know if these are the same bulbs/lights that the VIP 5.5 Dual light setup uses? I just put them on yesterday and look like they could use an upgrade. Currently I have these:

The VIP 5.5" 'classic clear' lights use a 55w H3 bulb, if that's what you're asking.
