"Constant" power to sunroof?

so, is it just me, or is it really annoying you cant CLOSE your sunroof unless the car is on / acc / powered up? i hate running out to the car when its raining to close the sunroof, and having to find my keys!

really, i wanna CLOSE the sunroof ANY TIME, with or without the car being powered.

has anyone tried to mod their sunroof? is there a way to "trick" it to allow us to operate it with no power, or can we bypass a switch, or relay, or fuse or something?

i also have a neat gizmo from ebay: its a remote control relay basically. theres a little FOB with buttons, and a relay box. hook something up: turn it off / on. SO, id like to actually wire my sunroof up to that! then i can remotely open / close the dang thing, NOT have to run out in the rain and get wet to save the car!

**also, any way to program the stupid thing to close all the way when you push the button? seems strange even now, that i have to click the button twice to fully seat the sun roof...

If you lock the door with the key, and keep the key turned, the windows and sunroof will both close.

You should be able to time it to close completely with one push. Was messing around with mine when I first got it to just time it to go one push back, then somehow it just started working.
Don't have the exact procedure, sorry.

Basically all I did (along with a friend) is hold the switch to the full open position and and keep it pressed for a few seconds afterwards. Then hold the switch to move the assembly forward and hold the switch still after it fully closed.
We kept messing with it, it then learned somehow, guess we hit the sweet spot. Pretty sure the dealership could tell you how to do it.

If you hit the close button real quickly it'll close on it's own. but you have to press and let go pretty fast

In that case, move to CA. It doesn't rain here much.
