Hi,

I am thinking of building a simple circuit based on an Arduino to give my CM4 the mirror-dip-in-reverse feature. The circuit and software should be pretty straightforward, but I have no idea how easy it is to tie into the wires. Does anybody know if the mirror wiring is accessible under the dash? Or would it be necessary to access under the door panels as well?

The mirrors have if I remember correctly 3 wires al together and the controls on the door have 3-4. The mirrors use digital signals that pulse in order to accomplish many different functions with minimal wiring unlike an analog system. I was powering a circuit that I have designed to make the mirrors fold when car was off. I never got around to building it but I will be running the wires to the mirrors as I have all the door panels off anyways.

 

How did this work out finally? I'd love to be able to install power fold side mirrors if I come across a good set at a salvage yard in the near future. Anyone done this? Switch from regular non Power to Power mirrors?
