OEM HID Xenon Retrofit

HI just purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper S Hardtop without the xenon headlights. I just bought it three weeks ago. I really regret not getting a mini with the xenons. I have been reading the past topics on this and I want to go the OEM route but it seems expensive and hard to reprogram the ECU. Is it even possible to replace the standard halogen bulbs with a xenon headlight i can buy from ebay and ballasts, and the bulbs Im trying to go the oem route. Any Help is apreciated,
Thanks
Gabriel.

yea can replace the standard bulbs with hids but the relector is not made to handle hids so the light will just spread everywhere and get in peoples eyes like most annoying ricer cars. the other route is to get it retrofitted with custom projectors using your oem halogen housing. this can be costly if you have someone else do it for u but it is still cheaper than buying the oem projector housing and having to deal with the hassle of ecu programming.

There is also an OEM retrofit kit available but it is also rather expensive.

Also this video shows them removing Halogen and replacing with aftermarket xenons. So you might want to check out there website and ask them some questions.

The little leds that power the Halo and the leds around the turn signal are not wired up to be powered off the headlight. When I had these installed I just ran a wire from the running lights that are on the top of the fog lights and tapped into those wires. This way they will work with the headlights off and the running lights on. Read my post about these headlights though....I don't recommend them. As for HID bulbs not working in Halogen housing and blinding people is hogwash! I've owned multiple vehicles and never had a problem blinding people. It's the idiots that don't aim the headlights after installing HID bulbs that need to be punched!
