I have a 2003 Cooper-S without the rear power socket, just the locating hole in the left wall of the "Boot". I bought a kit to add the socket, but it has no instructions on how to wire it in. I've been advised to hard wire it straight to the battery under the carpet. It has a small light bulb that I guess should light up when the dash is lit.
The 2004 model has the plug back. It is connected to a wiring harness that goes up to the front somewhere.
Does anyone know how to wire this kit?

If you wire it directly to the battery make sure that you put a fuse in series with the hot lead to the battery. I would guess that a 20 amp fuse should be correct for this.
