Xenon to Halogen

A good friend of mine purchased an 09 Clubman with halogens installed in the place of Xenons. Can the lamp module be reprogrammed to accomdate this switch?

The high beams currently do not work. Anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure why it was done but it was for sure a swap after it was purchased by the first owner?

The wiring in the car is different for the Halogens vs. the Xenons so it may not be possible to make them work. See iin the Xenon lights there is only one bulb and no light filaments. With halogen bulbs you get one bulb with two filaments (one low and one high beam) or two bulbs in some cars.

The Halogens have a 4 wire system.
wire 1 left low beam
wire 2 right low beam
wire 3 left high beam
wire 4 right high beam

The Xenons have a 3 wire system
wire 1 left low/high beam
wire 2 right low/high beam
wire 3 Xenon Shutter control

So all in all I do not think that it will be easy to convert a Xenon wired car to Halogen.

I'm sure it can be done but it will require extra relays and wiring. and a lot of testing.

Once the wiring issues are worked out, then the Vehicle Order needs to be updated and the FRM module needs to be "reset" to update the change to the lighting system in order to work properly. Since that is not an official retrofit path the dealer won't even be able to do this for you!
