Constant ticking sound from HID harness relay
Hey guys. So i ordered a 55w hid kit off sharphid and got it in today. Everything installed fine despite some flaws (flaw #1: a piece of the base in the bulb cracked off during shipment on both bulbs. flaw #2: a part of the white filament thing on one of the hid bulbs was cracked most likely due to shipping).
Anyways after installing everything (with the addition of 2 cancellors i ordered from them) they turned on just fine. I don't mind the bulb out errors which can probably be fixed my resistors, but i am bugged about this constant tick-tick-tick sound that i can hear from the relay box that's integrated with the harness. I've confirmed that the sound only comes from the relay box thing and NOT the ballasts. Do you guys think this ticking is normal or do you think it's just a bad harness or maybe i can fix it with some resistors? Thanks!

Silence, only the ballasts whine if you put your ear up to them.
The purpose of the relay is to keep the lowbeam circuit energized while the high beam is being used. Normally the low beam drops out on our cars when you use the high beam. There is another way to do the same thing using a diode, which is what some other kits use that power off the headlight connectors.
I am not sure what that clicking could be while you are in low beam. Unless you have some residual voltage on your high beam. If that is the case adding the resistors may pull it down and stop the noise. What happens when you flip up to high beam? If it does not flicker seems like it should be OK. Double check your connections. Where are you grounding the harness? Make sure you scrape the paint off under the screw and quickly use grease to keep corrosion and rust from forming. Hope this helps. The relay in the harness actually died this week. The seller is said he'd ship a replacement out to me.
