I have the DDM Tuning 55w kit in 6000k it works fine except with the bulb out warning on start up which to me is no big deal. I do have the eliminator they sell I just haven't put it in. I am going to put it in tomorrow so if they work I'll let you know.

Yea i had one that worked perfect with no bulb out warning and high and low beams. but the ballast and bulbs eventually gave out and I couldn't find replacements the kit seemed to be rare. its been raining so I will try the code eliminators tomorrow.

You gonna put the HIDs in a proper housings and not be illegal and glare at oncoming traffic? I vote retrofit.

Honestly from the pictures people have posted, the halogen housing does a "decent" job of cutting it off.

Much better than the civics / f150s you see with HID pnp kits.

If the Mini option would be cheaper I think people would opt for that more. Even if it was a $1000 dollars, I would pay that much for an OEM housing / HIDs.

I mean that's even a 100% markup from factory, I think they would have made their money.

I see what you are saying but some glare is too much and wrong housings are wrong housings even if it isn't too bad. These are my feelings and they will stay that way and I know hundreds of people here probably just use drop-in kits that PnP and are done with it. Not a huge fan, but hey it's their money and life, just don't blind me.

12,000K? Are you serious? I doubt it is even brighter than halogens, not to mention totally illegal to have that much blue light on a car (impersonating police). Even all lighting logic and laws aside who wants to look that ricer guy?

I agree to a point. I used to be one of those "retrofit or nothing else" but then coming from my M coupe and now this...pretty much every SUV / Truck (I live in Texas) is so high that their lights hit eye level anyways. So technically I'm almost always blinded by oncoming traffic. The auto dim rear view does a decent job but since I don't have tint on the fronts yet, it still reflects against the side mirrors back to the face.

Not fun sometimes :(

Don't think projector housings are automatically perfect. I have seen some retro job posts on here with them aimed sky high. No matter what you choose you need to aim them responsibly.

Also no matter what kit you choose there is a way around the bulbout warning. I did mine the old fashion low tech way and used resistors. It's a little clunky looking but it works reliably and is cheap. The newest way uses a programmer and a cable where you simply turn off the bulb check circuit. Just the cable is $120.00, software sounds tough to learn.

Let us know if the plug in eliminators work JCarlos (if it ever stops snowing out there!)
