Rear Fog Light Retrofit on 2011

Hi guys. I did use the search function but couldn't find too much info on the 2011s.

I have a 2011 MCS without the rear fog light and want to retro fit it. I found a DIY but I am reading conflicting info.

I believe the wiring and bulbs are already there. I just need to buy the toggle switch and console with the rear fog light icon on it then take it to the dealer and have them re-program, rather, download a whole new software version. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Most likely the wiring is not there they dropped the fog light and alarm wiring in the harness back in 09/09 or there about. If the car was not ordered with a fog light then you are most likely out of luck.

You can however do a toggle switch somewhere else and add wiring to the car to add the fog light.

Oh and BTW there are at least 4-5 threads on this already. Yes the website search does not work very well. Many of us use Google advanced search to look things up on the site.

EDIT: BTW you have already responded to a thread on 12-28-2010 (two days ago) where your above question was answered with the CORRECT information.

I know you are trying to help new forum users but you are never going to get anywhere with this. New users come on and ask the same questions over and over. I too am annoyed and part of it is the search on this site sucks and part of it is that most people do not want to read through hundreds of posts.

When I see questions to posts that have been answered many times, I just ignore it.

And FWIW you do a great job answering questions.
