Question Valentine One Install?

Could any of you early-receivers of your countryman that have Valentine One radar detectors post install instructions, or any differences from the R56? I'd love to see one installed while I'm waiting...

I'm looking to do the same thing. I haven't been able to find any literature on taking apart the overhead to get to the proper 12v power supply. If I figure it out, I'll be sure to post any applicable information.

Has anyone figured out how to get 12V from overhead?

Has anyone figured out how to get 12V from overhead?

There was a thread on another part of this site but it was for a different model. I am trying to get power for a radar detector. Ideally, it will switch on and off with the other accessories.

This isn't specific to the Valentine one.

I eventually gave up and ran a long line from the radar detector around the door molding, through the glovebox, and to the cigarette lighter. With the Valentine one remote, it actually works pretty well, and I haven't had to rip into the car. I'd still be interested if anyone identifies the hardwire method, though.

That's what I did

I did the same thing for my regular radar detector. It isn't very stealthy and I would like to mount it above the rearview mirror. It will do for now but hopefully someone has the answer. There seems to be a bunch of wires for the sunroof. Maybe one of those can be used.

Yea the wires are different it doesn't have the one mentioned in the R56 write up. iirc I used the thick brown one , supplies 12v no problem, but does not go off with key. It's ok cause the V1 has a sleep function, and turns itself off after a certain period of inactivity, still I tend to just switch it off myself most of the time though.

I have a cobra instead that I wanted to tap into the radio fuse with. Does anyone know which fuse is the radio?? The icons are not very straight forward IMO.

Thanks!
