Can I connect 2 add-on 12v cigarette lighters...

Can I connect 2 add-on 12v cigarette lighters on a single add-a-circuit? I need one for my GPS and one for my iPhone adapter. I can't add a double adapter because one will be visible and one will be hidden behind the bolster, so they need to be two different units.

Thanks!

As long as you don't go above the fuse amperage you should be fine. you would just have to connect the wire coming from your add a fuse to each + wire on the cigarette lighters. if you need wire connectors i recommend fry's electronics if you have one near you. cheaper than radio shack. Its like a Costco version of radio shack AKA an electronic geeks heaven lol

As Gidget said, you can, given amperage limits. You can also do a couple of different add-a-circuits.

Your suggesting I wire them in parallel rather than in series? Won't that drop the voltage across each?

We do...one of my favorite hangouts!

Parallel is the correct way - think of it this way... EVERY other circuit on the car is in parallel... because the negative always goes to common ground.

I bought two extra stock cigarette lighter sockets from Mini and installed them ahead of the stock central location on the more or less vertical panel under and foward of the switch panel. I had to install them left and right because there's no room in the center. I tapped into the existing socket and it works perfectly. The forward left on is for my GPS, the forward right one is for my cell phone charger, and the stock one is for my radar detector. Neat and factory looking. I'd include some pix, but my car's not back from the shop yet. Just make sure that the current draw for everything you're plugging in doesn't exceed the fuse rating of that circuit.
