Retrofitting Airbag deactivation switch

Is there anyway of retrofitting the Airbag Deactivation switch found on European models? I believe there was a kit on the R53.

Although physically it is possible to do so there are computer program changes and vehicle specific coding in the Airbag Control Module that probably can not be changed on your car. For instance the Airbag Control Module has to be encoded for your vehicle and is done by VIN number. if the coding in this module does not conform to the correct coding in the CCC (central car computer) then there will be a fault light. Also the Airbag Control Module can not be recoded, they are one time coding only.

So with all this it makes it very difficult to add the switch. You would have to have the dealer completely change all the programing in the CCC to a European spec and get another Airbag Control Module and then code that to a false VIN number to get it to work.

Most safety related items are made so hard ot change or remove that it is about impossible to make these kind of changes.
