Auto Folding Mirror MOD Request

There has been a request for a new MOD and some help is needed.

Here is what is wanted...

Auto Folding Mirrors
When Car is turned ON - Mirrors Fold OUT Automatically.
When Car Turns OFF - Mirrors Fold IN Automatically.

I would think this could be done with 2 relays, one for fold OUT and one for fold IN.

Can anyone help with this one. This could be a simple as the Auto ON Sport Buttom MOD.

Count me in as long as it wouldn't be too difficult or expensive!

I'd be in assuming sub $75 price tag.

Sounds interesting, especially with an upgrade option for passenger side mirror tilt for reverse

What I'd REALLY like to see is an one-touch Sun-roof open/close feature

Have you found anyone to help you. I would also like to know if the "WINDOW ROLL-UP MODULE (MINI)" would work for an 09 Mini.

Awesome can't wait.

If you're willing to take on another project, how about the following:

If your Mini is equipped with the rain sensing wipers, then have it automatically close the convertible top and/or sunroof and all the windows if it senses rain (when the Mini is turned off).

Wouldn't that be an awesome feature. Probably a bit more difficult than the others mods that you offer I would guess.

Excellent News. Can you share with us a little about:

(1) What the module looks like?
(2) Where would it be installed?
(3) Approximate cost of it?

I would be extremely interested in this feature as well!

I know there is a mod offered for the side view mirrors to tilt down when in reverse at this website:

http://kptechnologies.com/products.p...I&model=Cooper

Maybe this could be upgraded to also fold in when turned off?

Took the liberty of contacting KPTechnologies. This is the response I got:

"We did in fact make a module to fold the mirrors in, but because of the OEM electronics setup our module was not “perfect”. It was set up to pulse the mirror fold wire when you shut the car off and when the ignition is turned back on, but because there aren’t separate “fold” and “unfold” signals in the car (the mirrors just always toggle their state) sometimes the mirrors would get reversed. Also, we found that mirrors didn’t always complete their cycle (either with the switch or with the module). This caused issues as well as it caused the OEM electronics to not know which direction to travel on the next pulse."

Bummer...

I wonder if they ever thought of just adding a relay from the door lock to the folding mirror circuit. it's all located in the drivers door so when you lock the doors the mirrors fold and when you unlock the mirrors unfold.

Could that work?

I designed a circuit that should work. It is small and comprised of a DPDT relay, transistors, resistors, & capacitors etc. Basically it is not a plug and play installation but it will work and will not be able to harm the original OEM circuit or functions. Everything will still work manually as well. I will getting delivery of my 2014 in the next few weeks & I will try it then!
