I know this is an old topic.

Just wanted to bring it up and just notices from Realoem.com that the R50 and R53 manual have the same part numbers.

So why would it be different?

This came from the R50 (auto transmission) and R53 (manual transmission) Realoem.com information part #12417570488.

I don't know about the R50 auto, but the R50 manual starter is different from the R53 manual starter.

Please remember, production date for items matter...
The r50 manual DID CHANGE from the midlands to a getrag in 2005....so a few items in the powertrain changed, like cv joints....so use your cars date in real oem....and then maybe look up the donors car year....
