Hardwire GPS with auto on Sport button mod using fuse 32

I did the auto on sport button mod. Its connected to fuse 32. Now I want to hardwire my GPS using a female lighter plug adapter:

Like what lacning74 did.

What fuse can I connect the cigarette lighter plug adapter to so that I get power when the car is started and turns off when the car is turned off? Can I also connect it to fuse 32? Will that cause any problems?

For your first question, you can get something "splice free" that Mike from newministuff.com has to offer: http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...uctshow&id=472

For your second question, I've done the sport button mod and my V1 detector both tapped into #32 via a Bussman add a circuit fuse tap. Works great since #32 is set so that when the ignition cuts off so does the power. Good luck and enjoy your new MINI

Does anyone know which fuse I can connect to to have the GPS power on when I insert the key and turn off when the key is ejected?

Cool. Thanks BigOly.

mvfeinstein - that would be fuse #32.

onefish2, fuse 32 turns my gps on/off when I push the start/stop button. I am looking for one that will do it when I insert the key.
