Electrical HELP: How to install Hella Optilux 2500s
HELP: How to install Hella Optilux 2500s
I am about to pull the trigger and purchase some Hella Optilux 2500 angel eyes for my 05 MCS and need all the help I can get. What I'd really like is if someone can find a thread with step by step written for a rookie, like me! Photos of wiring, etc. would be good also. I know this sounds lame, but some of us aren't as technically skilled as a lot of the NAMers posting here.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Note that I've since replaced my 2500's with PIAA 510's - MUCH nicer lights, but not angel eyes. The Hellas are, IMHO, pretty low quality lights and the angel eyes don't really look that great (uneven light distribution around the ring). But some folks love them.

Thanks much.. Looks like a REAL challenge though.. UGH!! And the PIAA 510s probably are better but I don't want to spend that much on lights.. Thanks for the advice though.. The forum moderator says that most people install the Angel Eyes upside down which is why they get moisture in them and that a custom bracket needs to be made.. Not sure how to get that done either..
Maybe the orientation has something to do with the moisture... but, having had them and inspecting them very closely, I can't see how this has much to do with it... mine stayed pretty dry after I sealed them better than they came from the factory...
Everything's relative... I've done much harder (and easier) mods to my car... but if you aren't comfortable wiring stuff in your car, it's non-trivial...

Paul,
I'm a complete rookie at it.. Never installed anything electrical on the car which is why it looks a bit daunting. However, I'm not that eager to shell out $3-400 for a tech to install a set of $60 lights. DOH! Maybe I need to find a local DIYer who will help!!
Thanks again..
