AWESOME

Disclaimer: this is more of a venting post, but if anybody has any brilliant ideas I am all ears! So I just finished installing full audio system (6 speakers / amp, the works). Everything looks and sounds dandy. Put the car back together. Get in the car to drive to work today and:

1) get a "ding dong, your driver's side door is open." lovely. window does not go up to create a "seal"
2) get to work and realize the driver's side door will not lock
3) when I close the door, the window either:
a) does nothing
b) goes up and down to "seal" and "unseal" uncontrollably
c) does nothing for a while and then opens all the way a few minutes later
4) window control seems to be funky. Have to push it multiple times to get the window to go all the way up.

So, I pull the door panel off (I'm getting really good at this) and inspect the locking mechanism. On the pass side, I can easily push the peg down to lock the door. On the driver's side, I can not do this. Try to push the peg down, it doesn't go down. Using the interior toggle switch and key lock buttons do not work on the driver's side.

So I'm thinking either:

a) I tweaked the locking mechanism when putting the door panel back on last time. But that wouldn't explain the other strange behavior, would it?
b) I somehow damaged the wires or the wiring harness in my shoving of coat hangers through the tubing between the door and car when running the speaker cable. I think this is a more likely explanation. The only way I can think to fix it is to just cut the whole damn thing off and see if / where I sliced something up.

Thoughts??

Yea.....I'm going to go with the shoving of the coat hanger through the tubing. I've had bad experiences with that as well. Mind as well check just in case anyway

still some weird stuff going on, the door chime alert appears to be intermittent..and the window still seals and unseals a couple times and then stops. window up / down now works however.
