Replacing fog lamps and driving lamps.

Hey guys, I need some assistance. I would love to replace my fog lamps and driving lamps with yellow bulbs. I have an '09 R56. Just wondering if anyone has any good recommendations as to which bulbs I should use? I don't want them to be to obnoxious and blinding to other drivers, but I definitely want them to be noticed. Also, I am thinking about changing my headlamps as well. I do not have xenon bulbs. I would love them to be a bright white, not blue. Do I need to replace hi-beam and low-beam? Will non-oem bulbs mess with the computer system in the car? I really appreciate any help you guys could give. My lease is expiring and I am buying my car out so its time to modify!

For the fogs get Nokya hyper hellow h8 bulbs and matching w5w for the parking lamps. As for the hid kit I ordered one for high low bixenon which shouldn't throw a bulb out code since it does not need to relay to the battery. I'll let you know as soon as I get it. Where in NY???

I have a set of Hella 500 driving lights, at 1st I was using yellow lamps, but they blew too quickly. Then I bought yellow lamp laminate that has been working fine.

Massachusetts has no laws against yellow fog lights. The only issue I got when I initially installed the lights were over time I had to adjust the positioning down until no one flashed their high beams when I drive by.....lol.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it jcarlos. Im gonna go check out those yellow bulbs. So what bulbs do you recommend for for the headlamps? I am still debating. Im on Long Island.

Sent you a pm with more info bro. But also out in long island there's blackflamecustoms and they do sick retrofits for hids. that is the best way to convert to hid but it might be a little pricey I'm not sure tho you can check them out.

So this is considered thread digging, but over the summer, I finally made the switch to some yellow fog lights. 3000K temperature. Let me tell you, these bulbs are BRIGHT. Super yellow, super bright. Absolutely love them. Love the way they look. They've been on for almost 3 months now. I haven't had any issues!

I have 3000K's in my 2010 JCW and genuine nokya's which are 2500K in my 09. The Nokya's are a deeper yellow and are brighter, worth the extra $$ IMO. I have HID 3000K's in my armada and the Nokya's are still better (way more reliable).

The ones that Adam has seen are mine. Bite the bullet and buy the PIAA Plasmas from Outmotoring....they look fantastic at night. Aaron at Outmotoring can guide you to the right part number for your application.

I got Nokya Hyper Yellow on my R53, I like them but I wanted more Yellow so I added Yellow tint over them. Just bought my wife some Hyper Yellow for her Clubman. I got them on Ebay $21.75 FREE!! Shipping. Lol it was a better deal than the when I bought them from outmotoring.

That's a good price. I think I paid $27.00 back in the day for my Nokya's on ebay too. They completely overwhelm the halogen headlights and the guy in front of you. I like that yellow tint idea for my wife's car (with the 3000K). 3000K looks like you have low voltage on your halogens, it's not very yellow but for $12.00 who is complaining. I would be expecting yellow light sabers for $76.95. I gotta see some pics! Makes me wonder if your hyper hyper yellow set up would be comparable.

I absolutely love my Nokya hyper yellow. Best $30 bucks spent with shipping. Bought them in January 2012 and no problems or issues with them.

Today I replaced the bulbs for the fog lamps in my 2005 MCS and this information posted a while ago was priceless. The only difference from these instructions that I made was for each side to raise the car and remove the wheel beforehand, then replace the wheel and lower the car afterward. This gave more space for accessing the fender liners and the bulbs.

For anyone who is wondering the difference between the PIAA plasma yellow bulb and Nokya yellow. Since I'm trading in my Countryman I bought some cheap Nokya's to put in before I gave it to the dealer. Wasn't expecting the PIAA's to be this much better than the Nokya's.

PIAA plasma yellow's on left Nokya yellow's on right. Keep in mind this is a photo, so in person the Nokya's don't look THAT faded but still, you can easily see the PIAA's are worth the price. Also the PIAA's where in my Countryman since last September. Even after being in for a year they look nice.
