Boost Gauge Lights

I just purchased an 04 MCS...The previous owner put in a boost guage and oil temp guage on the steering column. The lights on the boost/oil temp gauge dont light up. I took the assembly appart and checked the bulbs it they look good...I see that he has crimped into the grey and red wire that goes to the tach. Every thing else lights up except for those. Any ideas?

Thanks!

When I lifted off the guage assembly that goes over the top of the steering column I could see where there was a grounding wire. It is held in place by the torx nut that holds the gauage assembly to the steering column, so when I lifted off the plastic gauge assembly it was not grounded then...I dont know if it was before I took it apart or not? I put everything back and made sure that the ground wire was held in place on the metal steering column with the torx nut that secures everything. The lights still do not work. If the ground came off before I even started to mess with this would that cause the lights to not work now even though I replaced the ground wire? I looked at the bulbs and the filaments dont look blown?

So if the ground is good, use a test light to make sure there is power at the bulb socket. If that is good, try changing the bulbs.

out of the back of the boost guage was obviously the tube runs into the engine compartment, then there was a black wire and a white wire...the white whire is the power correct?

Also, thanks for your help!

Normally, if there are only two that are black and white, then yes, the white would be power and black the ground. I don't know who did the install, so you may want to trace the wires to see where they go just to make sure.
