I had to have the BC-1 module replaced in my 04 MCS at about 18k miles. That was over a year ago.
Fortunately, was still under warranty. Only have 21K miles on it now.

My mechanic's cost for the new BC1 was $430, plus about 2 hours labor. About 1 hour of that was for remove and replace, the other for reprogramming. I don't think it took an hour for the reprogramming.

Shoot me a pm with your email addy, I'd be happy to send along the higher res pics.

I wonder, has anyone had to have their BC-1 module replaced more than once? Just trying to determine if they fixed the the problem in the newer BC-1 modules.

IMHO, the newer BC1's aren't all that great - they certainly seem to have cheapened it up. Our 03 MC lost a BC1 - started doing all sorts of weird things, interior lights going on & off, windows dipping down, alarm going off - basically the BC1 thought the door was opening when it wasn't.

The new BC1 - about $600 installed - had a plastic case instead of metal, and was missing many of the user programmable options. We lost our 90 second follow-me-home - the only option now is 45 seconds - and it works completely different than it did before. Alarm LED on the stalk works different too. Small, subtle changes that seem to serve no purpose. We were not happy - but other than finding an original BC1 in a junk yard, we've got no choice...
