Electrical HID Ballasts/Bulbs
HID Ballasts/Bulbs
Has anyone ever experimented with "Overdriving" the HID Ballast to provide more light output? It seems like every other car on the road has brighter HID's than me. Could it just be that their color temperature "Appears" brighter? I know that the stock Xenons are the optimal Color Temp for light output, but it doesn't seem that way sometimes.
Anyone who has changed the bulbs to a 5200k bulb or so, what type of bulb did you use, where did you get it, and have you had any issues with light output?
Thanks!

Well, I already have the OEM HID's, i'm just looking to make them as bright as other HID's on the road. Side by side, a BMW or Mercedes throws WAY more light than I do (My HID's look like those blue ricer bulbs, the color matches, but the brightness isn't close).
Also, my car has about 3/4 an inch of ground clearance, i'm willing to bet there aren't a whole lot of cars that would be affected by any increase in brightness. I'd be hard pressed to blind much of anything short of a dog walking down the street
