2002 Cooper S with P0037 Code

With a laptop I am given the code P0037, and the car is now in a limp mode. Any ideas??
I have disconnected the battery to clear codes, but it comes right back with car is idling and back into limp mode.

Any suggestions greatly apreciated.

This is a new one to me...
Code P0037 means ... HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low

As to what is the problem .. I am not sure yet... But maybe you can search for this circuit on www.realoem.com

Any mods on the MINI?? What was the most recent change that might have triggered the error..

If I get time... I try to look into it more...

Good luck

P0037

Car has several mods:
CAI
15% Supercharger
2% Crank
Head
Cam
Clutch
Lighten flywheel
Uni-chip
MTH flash to raise Revs to 7100

I have been throwing several codes lately P0107, P0302, and now P0037, while using the Uni-Chip. The last change was the MTH tune, but I ran for 3weeks without any codes. None of these have thrown the computer into limp while using the Unichip. I changed map sensors and post Cat O2 sensor, still had the codes. Now I removed the Unichip and the only code that remains is the P0037, and the car goes into limp.

ok .. the other codes are
P0107 -Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0037 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low

I am a little suspicous of the MTH with UNIchip combination.. The UNIchip is designed to offset stock ECU values but depends on what was adjusted inthe MTH tune..

The HO2S Heated control circuit low is pointing to the O2 sensor.. Not sure which one (there are two)... this link describes a way to "test" the sensor.. If it is the sensor shop around, these can get pricey but don't need to be.

If the O2 sensor is messed up the ECU cant measure the fuel trim.. So that would explain the limp mode...

I know of another MINI (03 MCS modded) that is having issues with the O2 sensor on 03 MCS.. so maybe the sensors are starting to so their age...

Maybe that helps.
