MAY - 18 The Pekin lot (air strip) Pekin, IA.
JUNE - 8 Indian Hills Community College. Ottumwa, IA
JULY - 13 Indian Hills Community College. Ottumwa, IA
AUG - 10 The Pekin Lot (air strip) Pekin, IA.
SEPT - 14 The Pekin Lot (air strip) Pekin, IA.
OCT - 14 Indian Hills Community College. Ottumwa, IA

The Pekin lot is a old air strip located south off of Hwy 78 on V51 just past Pekin school then turn west into drive- 5 miles east of Martinsburg, IA.

Minimum of Five Runs per Event

NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO WORK ANY OF OUR EVENTS
So you can bring a chair and watch others run or ride along with others, between your runs.

Sign in 12:00 noon First Run 1:00

$15.00 entry fee

You will need a helmet. (we do have a few loaners) you will be happier with your own.

no one's required to work? first run at 1pm? how does this work?

 

only our club members work the event not the guest. this makes it much more enjoyable for you as a guest. your there to have fun not to work.

we are a fairly laid back club, still having fun.

no we do not, i wish we did. but then one of us would have to tend to it.
if you google search ottumwa autocross you may find vids and pics.
the events at Pekin are higher speed events.

very very easy to make (i'm not very computer literate) and it would help as far as events go. regardless, i will definitely be hitting one of these!

 

I assume this is open for all makes. Just asking to be clear. A buddy of mine has and Fiesta ST and it might been fun to go to a new area. I'm green to autoX but he's experienced.

you will run two time trials and we will class you by that.

 

Cool, can I bring my Westfield? (Lotus 7 Clone)

 

all cars will have to pass tech and deemed safe. four wheel brakes,seat belts,no loose items,correct air pres, so on and so on, no brainer stuff.. as long as your car can do that you can run it.

you will get two practice runs, and we will class you by your times.

you will run two laps per run. one car on the coarse at a time. so if you get lost or have a issue on the coarse you do not have to worry about another car breathing down your neck.

if you have never ran in a autocross before and think you would like to try it, this would be the events to try it out. we are there to help.

 

Autocross meeting last night and it looks like we are set for our first event of the year. Our first event will be held at Pekin, IA.

Even easier than a website is to create and use a Facebook Group and you can control who gets added and removed as an administrator.

good thinking though - i'd def post in ur region, and anywhere you can really.

 

Very good turnout for our first autocross of the season in spite of the on and off again rain all day. We had 17 drivers brave the rain and test their wet weather driving skills. We don't mind having to run in the rain as it challenges you to change up you driving habits . Matter of fact we have autocrossed at night and we have ran in the snow before. Well the snow was't planned. but in August we usually have a night autocross. Thanks to those that attended and hope see more drivers next month.

Any details on the June Autocross event?

I'm actually traveling back from Des Moines on Sunday and thought "what the heck - this might be some fun".

 

The June 8 event will be held at Indian Hills in town campus near the auto tech building. In Ottumwa, IA
The coarse will be tight and not real fast. but it will be challenging. Concrete parking lot if available, if not will use the asphalt one. rain or shine.
sign in at noon, start at 1:00. $15 minimum of five runs.

There is always a wide range of vehicles that attend our events.
