Holy Cross Parade and Festival -- August 10th
If you haven't joined us for this outing in the past, the Holy Cross Parade and Festival is an absolutely delightful small-town event held in conjunction with Holy Cross Days. The festivities include the parade, a charity auction, a street dance with a live band, bouncy houses for the kids, a barbecue, and more. The heart of the festival is right across the street from the home of our own 05MINI (a.k.a., Linda and Tom R.).
The parade will stage on Saturday, August 10th at ~9:30 am for an approximate 10:30 am start. Prior to that time, there will be a car wash spot set up in the driveway (956 Main Street) and/or the neighbor's driveway. If the street in front of the house as you come into town from the south is closed, just drive around the block and you'll get there. After wash-up we'll spiffy up our MINIs with some decorations prior to the parade.
As in past years, L & T have graciously invited us all into their home after the parade for a great feast, beverages, and fellowship. They supply virtually endless drinks and the most delectable and now famous broasted chicken from the local bar & grill. Side dishes or snacks to share with the group are welcome but are not at all required or expected. It's always great fun to relax on the porch, enjoy the food and drink, and watch all of the festival activities happening right out on the street in front.
Parade preregistration is not necessary -- but I'm sure our generous hosts would appreciate a head-count so please hit the calendar link or post a reply here so we know you're coming.

Things you may want to bring along with you:
-- Candy to toss to the kids during the parade
-- GMRS/FRS radios (for friendly banter during the parade)
-- Personal car wash supplies
-- Any leftover parade decorations you stashed from last year (I wonder if deanman is still sharing?)
-- Optional: yummy stuff to share
Hope to see you there.

Remember, no matter which point of the compass you choose to approach Holy Cross, there are roads enroute that are among the most scenic and twisty in the state. Consider getting creative and have a blast just getting there. )

I think I'll try to bring some beans in a crock pot as a side dish. I'm also pretty sure that lapshoffman has some bling to bring that he inherited from deanman.

Our company is leaving for a couple of days starting Saturday.
Pam plans on bringing a jello salad.
See you there.

Looks like we are going to have to miss the parade. Discovered an almost empty coolant tank and a good sized coolant puddle near the passenger side front wheel. Water pump is leaking, intermittently.
Ordered a new pump and am not going to be able to put it on in time.
While your parading, I will be wrenching.
We will miss seeing everyone. Stay out of the cornfields.
