Alyce said there is lots of Road Construction across Nebraska on I 80 so I checked the Nebraska DOR site this morning and it looks like at least a dozen cone zones crossing Nebraska. There isnt a more direct route that doesnt go thru many small towns so it looks like I 80 for us. We are leaving Wed morning headed for Ft Collins and then up, over and down thru the mountains to WP Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Drive safe

Rebecca and I are leaving Tuesday and will end up spending Tuesday night in Kearney. Wednesday we will head up to the mountains and will be spending the night at the Vintage Hotel, where we will stay until Monday morning. On the way back, we'll stay Monday night in Kearney again. If that coincides with anyone else's itinerary, give me a heads up or call me at any time on my cell phone. If you don't already have it, I'll pm it to you. What frequency/subcode do we typically use? I'll be bringing mine along even though reception will be pretty sketchy in the mountains.

FYI, I got back from my Mark Twain Lake camping trip at a decent time today so I've decided to get an early start for MITM. I'll be heading out in about an hour. Will probably make it as far as West Des Moines tonight. Still planning to stay in Wheat Ridge (west of Denver) tomorrow night. I'll keep an eye out for everyone along the way, will hope for some Iowa MINI sightings. Cindy, I've everyone's numbers and will give you a buzz when I roll in on Thursday morning.
I feel just like Zebulon Pike. Westward ho!

Just made it home about an hour ago. 14 hours and 15 minutes from just west of Fort Collins to Decorah -- made great time and no close encounters with the LEOs.
The run yesterday with Michael and the Steigs up to Waldon and down CO-14 through the Poudre River Gorge was fantastic.
I hope to edit pics during my flight out east tomorrow evening ( ) and have them posted by the end of the day Wednesday if possible.

2,285 miles of MINI fun! Well, except for the 8,000 miles of cone zone in Nebraska. Hmmm... my math doesn't quite add up But I am still sure it was at least 8,000 miles of road construction! Most of which didn't have anything happening except a sign that said "fines double".
The Colorado driving was AMAZING! I have oodles of pics to go through and will hopefully get some posted later this week.

Okay, here are my pics. Believe it or not, I ended up deleting almost two-thirds of them but still have a fairly sizable batch...

These MINI trips can't keep getting better and better, can they? I think this might have been the most fun trip I've experienced since we formed back in '07. Great times, weather, scenery, roads, and friends.
My thanks to everyone for the wonderful time and lasting memories.

It was an awfully fun time. We probably deserve tickets for having too much fun.
