UPDATE: The route map for this drive is attached to Post #11 in this thread!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

July 2010 found Mother Nature to be in a cranky mood indeed. The flooding rains and high waters on the Mighty Mississippi prevented us from answering the burning question, "How many MINIs can you embark at one time on an advertised 9 car capacity ferry?"

We need to know...and thus this reprised EIM Cassville Ferry Drive.

The general itinerary --

9:15 am...Rendezvous at the Port of Dubuque Star Brewery
19:45 am...Depart Dubuque for the Cassville Ferry (Iowa Landing) via Sherrill, Balltown, and North Buena Vista
10:45 am...Cassville Ferry crossing to Cassville, WI ($15 fare per vehicle) -- one or two 20 min trips, depending on the number of cars
~11:45 pm...Lunch at the Potosi Brewing Company in Potosi, WI
1:30 pm...Depart Potosi for superb afternoon MINI motoring in Grant County, WI; afternoon rest stop in Lancaster, WI
4:30 pm...Group photo at the Dubuque Clock Tower
5:00 pm...Dinner at the Shot Tower Inn in Dubuque

Specific location information may be found in our EIM Calendar Entry (<-link) for this event, where you may also RSVP by clicking the sign-up link. Lunch will be preplanned off of Potosi BC's excellent group menu, so we'll need to provide a headcount prior to the event.

Sign-ups greatly appreciated. See you there!

Somehow Pam and I thought the event was going to be on the 16th, which we couldn't have made, but since it's on the 23rd, we are ready, willing and eager. Put us down for two Pulled Pork.

Got an email that JDCMini is joining our "cruise" too.
Requesting one buzzard and one pig at Potosi BC.

Looks like we're forming a nice ferry load.

Sorry folks, but I have to withdraw my horse and rider from this race.

I'm sure you will all have a wonderful time.
I'll be anxious to see some video and pictures.

Yep, me too.

The forums have been relatively quiet lately...either everyone's busy with work/vacation or they're hunkered down from the tropical heat.

I am simply running low on energy because I am in desperate need of an infusion of MINI fun with fun MINI people. I will try to hang on until Saturday!

Dude, we had a great day, great food, great people, great fun, etc!! 160 miles approximately of MINI motoring excitement through the twisties of WI. weather was a little rainy and gloomy for the first 40 miles but quickly turned to sun and blue skies!

Yo all, here is a link to my pics from today that made the first cut...Dan gets credit for the ferry disembarkation photos:

The ferry ride was a blast, and it was great to get out on the twisties today...lots of motoring fun. Also very nice to see everyone again, and especially good to have the chance to meet Richard, Jenny, Jeff, Lavonne, and Larry.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day --- see you again soon!
