We're still working on that... We were convinced that we could get 15 MINIs (no Clubbies) simultaneously on the Ferry. Someday, we hope to test that hypothesis.

Be advised that there is about a mile and a half of gravel on the Iowa side of the ferry before you intersect County Road C-9Y. If you go slow it's no big deal.

Once at C-9Y I highly recommend you take a left turn toward North Buena Vista--it's one of our better local roads. Stop at the scenic overlook as you enter Balltown (great view if it is clear out). Once you get to Sageville, you can either head back west on US-52 which is another great stretch of road with good twisties and wonderful views or you can bail out and head into Dubuque for points south.

As an old rally driver gravel doesn't bother me. With a MINI's ground clearance it will be a slow mile.

Thanks for the tip on going left at C9Y. Looks like one of the twistiest roads in the whole state. I'll take S. Mound Rd. out of Sherrill & then 52 to Luxemburg. From there I'll take 136 to Cascade & pick up 151 & head southwest.

If you see a BLU/white MINI driven by an old fart next Saturday give me a wave.

Man I could have saved 1,700 miles & a lot of gas. I had to go take the Charlie D in person.

Nice video!

Hope your trip through our little neck of the woods was worth the diversion.

We had a very nice ramble though your neck of the woods. I saw one MINI in Iowa a PW/B R53 eastbound on Co Hwy F52 between Pamell & Millersburg. Got a wave too!

You will generally still find a high percentage of MINI "wavers" in the Hawkeye state. The MINI here is still somewhat of a novelty and those who drive them are anxious to share the love.

In contrast, MINIs seem to be a dime a dozen out in So. Cal (where I travel frequently on business). I can't seem to cajole anyone into a wave. Then again, why in the world would they want to wave at some fool in a rental Ford Focus?

I have to say that every citizen of Iowa I met was a wonderful person. Must be the corn. You have a beautiful state, but you need to make that Skunk River behave.
