Mike, I PM'd you on that.

Hey everyone be sure to print out the itinerary and maps at the start of this thread. I'd do it for you but I have printer issues.
BTW would someone make me a copy?

We can always keep going north till we get to a bridge then back track back to that area and find all the closed roads

We could follow the Great River Road to Marquette and cross the bridge to Prairie Du Chien. I never looked at our planned route but would guess we could reconnect to it from there. (I don't need no maps-I just follow the boot in front of me.)

The bridge that got hit is at Lansing, the next bridge up.

We could cross at Dubuque too, then GPS to Cassville and pick up the route from there. Bummer on the Ferry, we'll have to try that again.

Hey all, just got off the phone with Smokin' Jo. Unless anyone has strong objections we're proposing a morning route up C-9Y (a fun road) to Marquette and down WI-133 (another fun road) on the Wisconsin side for the morning portion of the route. Here's a link to the proposed route:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...,1.223602&z=10

The whole enchilada is about 30 minutes longer than previously planned, so if we're all in Dubuque by 9:45 am we will probably try to depart a bit early. That will get us into Potosi for lunch about 12:15 pm. We'll probably want to work in a potty stop in the Marquette/PDC area too.

The afternoon remains as per the previously advertised route.

Of course, this is contingent upon US-52 being open north of Dubuque tomorrow. We'll know for sure in the morning (as that's the way I'm planning on coming into town). If it's not, we'll adjust accordingly.

Give us a holler if you'd rather see something different.

Faith and I will have to bow out as we have some basement water problems. I hate to do this as this is the second time that I have done this. Have a good time and we will make it next time.

Great photos Linda! You really know how to make me

Here's my contribution to the collection:

Despite the fact that we were planning routes essentially "on the fly" due to closed, flood-damaged roads and a non-operating ferry boat, it turned out to be a really great day of motoring. What a fun group of MINI folk you all are!

Jeff, Angie, Al, and Pat -- it was sure great to meet and motor with you today!

--------

Incidentally, did you happen to see what happened today -- not more than 30 miles from where we were driving this morning? ...

Sure glad we went north instead of south!

David, Gary; thanks for the great day in spite of missing the Ferry. We certainly saw evidence of a lot of water every where we traveled. Potosi was amazing, and surprising that the brewery was open in spite of the previous nights downpour. Sorry Pam and I had to leave without telling all you all goodbye but we were still stuffed and needed to get home for other reasons. Looking forward to seeing all In Holy Cross next month for the parade.

Nice photo's everyone! I had a great time too despite Mother Nature.
I gave her a call (btw) and she apologized for the unfortunate mishap.
She said was trying to teach some unruly kids a lesson. She promised that our next adventure would be perfect.

TTFN!!

I saw this thread & it gave me an idea. Next week I'm traveling to Iowa to visit my Dad. Never knew there was a ferry at Cassville, but I do now. We are staying Friday night in Galena & then heading north to Cassville & short river voyage on the Charlie D. From there it is foot down to Pella.

Anyway, thanks for enlightening me on the ferry.

Don't forget $13.00 for the Ferry.
