So where on river front will we be meeting in clinton?

Along the dike or down in one of the parking lots? We may have to contend with the gambling crew being Saturday...

I was going to try and show up a little early and scope out the most opportune spot at the park to line up...

Good idea to have radios along. Which kind of radio did you get, and what channel will you be using?

I might suggest on the dike ,south just before 5th Ave on the river side. There should be enough spaces for us. The gamblers don't go that far down. We might have to move to the lot accross from Happy Joes on 1st st. if it gets too crowded.

Sounds like a good plan. At worst, one of us might have to make a quick run around the park for stragglers, just in case this detail escapes a few folks.

They're at home and I can't remember the exact brand, but they're typical FRS/GMRS radios with sub-channel capability that you'll find at any Target/Wal-Mart/Radio Shack.

I'm planning on using Channel 7 sub 21 (recommended by several experienced MINI users).

Cant wait for this!!

Car is getting detailed tonight allong with webcam and GPS hook up.

So far the Webcam road tests are pretty good but as you get close to 70+ MPH it starts to look like StarWars warp speed a bit, but from 0 - 60 pretty good.

Whatever works. Either way it sounds pretty sweet. How much do those mounts run? And do you know of a place in Clinton to clean the cars prior?

Is that a do-it-yourself or is it done by a couple of their employees?

Do it your self

I know about 10 years ago when it was put in it was one of the nicest do it yourselfer's (is that a word ) in town!

Only problem I have with detailing away from home is when I drive I have a bag of cleaning gear in the boot rattling about!

I may just drop all that stuff at my parents before leaving but who knows.

Just got a water blade so eager to use it!

Hey gang! I had a great time today -- hope you did too! I'd say a dozen MINIs and 19 folks in Clinton represented a pretty good first effort for us. Thanks much to everyone who joined us today. Jim, thanks for leading us this morning and hope your bonfire was a cracking good show. I sincerely enjoyed meeting everyone and their MINIs.

Here's my pics from today...not very many "on the road" shots but I guess that happens when all of the good looking MINIs are behind you!

In a week or two I'll solicit critiques so we can do it better next time, but I'll save it for now and just bask in the glow of a memorable day!

(Thanks also to Mommy Nature for the great November weather)

It was INDEED a memorable day! What fun! It will be tough to outdo this, but perhaps it can be done. Thanks very, very much D3m0N and Gil-galad.
