Mini Cooper SE charge comms
I just picked up a used 2023 Cooper SE and am loving it! I'm trying to diagnose a few charging quirks, hopefully the folks here can help.
When I picked it up I went straight to an EVGo charger and plugged it in. It immediately started charging before I had even registered the Mini on the app. I suspect the previous owner never removed the car from their app and it charged them (sorry!). I then registered it on my app but it says that autocharge+ is not available, and I have to use the app everytime I charge it, which seems wrong.
Additionally, I tried to use a Loop charger today but it continued to fail with a "Communication failure" error and I could never get it to charge.
Curious if anyone has seen this behavior before, and if I'm doing anything wrong?

Well, I'll say hi and welcome, but I can't help you much as my SE has only ever felt the tickle of Level 2 electrons. Generally it's issues with the charging apps rather than the car but if others have some insights, they can chime in. I do have a bunch of apps downloaded and will "enjoy" the experience of L3 charging when I road trip the Prologue this summer.
Also the Cooper SE forum is quite active at Insideevs: https://www.insideevsforum.com/commu...cooper-se.149/
I assume this is level 3 charging, so it tends to be quite expensive, even higher than my MA domestic rate of 32-36c/kWhr. Did your SE come with a charging cable? - it should have.
cheers
