2022 Cooper SE - Paint Code A62 - White Silver Metallic - PAINT ISSUE?
All,
For those with the White Silver Metallic paint (BMW/MINI Code A62), I just learned that there is some "issue" with the paint (seemingly at the factory) which has made the Genuine BMW/MINI Paint Touch Up Kit (and maybe even new orders of the car WITH that color) hard to come by.
Just wanted to let folks know.
I have a small (very small) chip on my rear lift-gate and am trying to be patient while MINI determines a course of action with resolving the paint issue on their end. I know there are many "do it yourself" repair options which claim to match the OEM paint codes but I have not yet gone down that route.

automotivetouchup.com has that code listed as it was also a 2021 color .....
I've ordered from them for years in many colors for various makes of car and ALWAYS a spot on match including 4 different MINI ....
you can buy a small brush bottle to check the match .... don't cost much. Note that they sell the paint as the base/clear system so you need to order the color ($10.95 1/2 oz brush bottle) AND some clear ($4.95). . .
p.s. I find the quality of paint from these folks WAY EXCEEDS what you get in 'oem' kits BY FAR, no matter what manufacturer . . .
