AWE Tuning MINI F56 S-FLO Carbon Fiber Intake. Coming Soon.
When you can get a module from NM or BMS that gives at least twice that for half the cost, it just doesn't compute "bro".
But I guess its no different than putting thousands of dollars worth of exhaust for a noise and maximum gains of 5hp....

True Bro-fessor , but if u blow up the motor & void your warranty with those UNPROVEN modules ur out 20K + easy.
I really don't like where this is going, because I have not once seen an actual proven case of the ones for the B48 blow anything up, so let's stay on the topic of sexy carbon fiber and good noises!!

The "Good ship lolly-pop" departs in 5 mins. outside your door.

The BMS is unproven? I thought Terry was and is a respected tuner.
Show me the proven long term data on a 2016 JCW motor with increased boost & fuel enrichment ?
U cant-because the F56 JCW has only been on the market for less than one yr.
No data exsist !!!!!
It takes a vendor longer than that to produce a "cash-flow" hot air intake system with no data.

Are you running any type of software yet ?
Do you think Remus, NM, BMS, K&N, AWE , Helix have tested let alone gathered thousands of hours of real world testing?
Nice one pj!!
When I was at the dealer yesterday, I asked the service department if these modules would void the warranty, and was told no. Then he recommended the BMS as he just helped his brother install one and said it really woke up the MINI.

Its fairly easy to say whatever you want when safely sitting behind your computer. My local dealer also doesn't have a problem with a piggyback module. And I have never heard of any module blowing up an engine. Besides, its just as easy as unclipping a few wires before you take it in for service. Just in case.
we were talking about engine module long term reliability when you change boost pressure, fuel mapping etc. on a f56 motor. i.e.,Data gathered to ensure reliability. Vendors that offer these devices state "no warranty available" No recourse, no nothing. When ur engine blows up.
Maybe a novice wannabe sports car/motor head Mini owner can not grasp the difference between that & mechanical bolt on items such as exhaust & hot air intakes which have no reliability effect on F56 motors.
Most cash flow device vendors offer no engineering long term history for these items due to the fact they have no ability to do so.
hypothetically speaking, if the s-flow ends up costing $800 and gains 15hp on a good day. We would be looking at paying $53 per hp. hmm... thats absurd. give me a non-cf version at half the price, and we'll be talking though.
Look- Smart ***,

Funny though, everyone jerks off over a down pipe for ~$800-$1200 which may make 8-10 hp.
That's ok though- right.

Geez this thread is getting ugly.
Back to the topic, let see some real data to back up the product.
If the intakes are already in production, AWE should have some data by now. Maybe they are just compiling everything and making it look presentable.
Honestly I'm not expecting big gains in power with an intake. I'll be happy if I can get the better sound and IAT doesn't suffer as a result.
Also please use fresh OEM panel filter when doing the dyno runs. Too many vendors do testing without stating whether they are comparing their intake with new or 10,000 miles-old OEM filter. If the stock filter is old of course there's power gain.

You keep bringing up hot air air intakes etc. Not once did I make mention to them. I understand your point, You're excited about AWE's airbox. It does look promising.
I apologize for making this public. I should have kept it a private discussion.
Have a good day.
