WMW Catless Downpipe!!

A recent addition in the Vendor announcement section. Has anyone looked into it yet? Installed one? Experiences? This is just what I've been looking for . I'm interested to know how one would deal with any CEL's that may (will) arise from installing this. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I agree way too expensive, looks like a very good quality but you can get an OBX catless pipe on ebay for $150 all day long.

A catless DP is a catless DP. $500 though is a little steep.

Sorry you guys don't like the price, but this isn't some ebay special DP. We made the flange extra thick to prevent any warping, there isn't any other DP with a flange that thick, and machined to be an exact fit. Many vendors use an off the shelf flange that the bolt holes don't line up perfect.
Also look at the welds, they are super. Also it's all stainless steel. Then it fits the stock exhaust with a perfect flange for the stock clamp. I wouldn't put my name on it if the quality wasn't what it is.

I can totally believe that! I've had nothing but good luck and service from WMW, which is the only reason I posted this thread.

Is the most restrictive part of the MCS exhaust? Any numbers from this mod on a stock setup?

I dont doubt the quality, but does a thicker flange plate and nice looking welds justify an extra $300 -350 ? it is what it is I guess and I am sure Way will sell lots of them but I still think $500 is steep. Opinions are like butt holes though, everyone has one

This + a catback exhaust = a turbo back exhaust mod...correct? I'm still trying to feel out the exhaust setup and options.

Thanks

Obviously the dealership will dislike this mod as well as failing emissions. With that being said, how hard is it to swap between this and the stock DP given these situations? Also, if this throws a CEL, what can be done?

Thanks for your input - I'm currently putting together my exhaust and the DP is my first step

Just ordered my catless downpipe from WMW and am also interested on how to get rid of the CEL it's going to throw... I was planning on buying an AP, but seeing how those aren't available anymore, what are my options?

Luckily, my state finally got rid of emissions requirements so no worries there! But I am curious just how it might affect warranty issues...

I have read that if you put a spark plug anti fouler between the second O2 sensor and the sensor bung, it moves the O2 sensor out of the path of he exhaust and fools it into thinking that a catalytic converter is in place.

Yeah but $300! An anti fouler costs about $5, it's worth a try.

I have a theory about doing things right the first time so I do not have to keep addressing issues over and over again. I bought the Akrapovic DP w/ cat and the Delete R at the same time. I knew there may be the possibility of a CEL. So, I waited to see if a CEL was going to show up. Sure enough, a week later it did. I promptly installed the Delete R (about 5 minutes) and that curred the CEL issue. Just do things right to begin with instead of trying to rig it some halfass way to prevent a CEL.

Just curious I looked everywhere for a video on a catless DP, no 2nd cat, no resonator, and a magnaflow muffler, can anyone tell me if that would even sound good or like crap?

Who's to say that an anti fouler isn't the right way, whatever works is the right way. If an anti fouler works, it's a better way than a $300 piece of electronics.

$5 or $300, that's a no brainer to me. But then, I'm cheap!

I had this setup for a while, and since I have a JCW I only had one cat so I was completely catless.

I can tell you it sounds fantastic but its LOUD...very loud. That's not so bad since it sounds so good but keep in mind you'll also have bad drone.

I added back a resonator and now it sounds perfect, low and mean. A lot of people with that setup are using this as a resonator:

http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=35054

Added it to mine and now it sounds perfect.

So curious, two questions so I know if I should pull the trigger.

I will buy now the magnaflow resonator from eBay and will put my muffler on with a 2nd cat delete. After that I will want to add the WMW catless DP, but will it fit a 2.5" custom exhaust? I didn't ask that prior to the other questions I had. Thanks!

Also, Way, any group buys on your catless DP anytime soon?

Wanted to bump this back up and see if anyone has any input after running the DP for a while now. I'm finally ready to say ***** it to drone etc. and go fully catless to my Invidia backbox. Just wanted to see how those that bought it feel about it after running it for a while.

Oh yeah drone city. But does it really bother me? Not really. If it gets to me I might turn my radio on. But thats only on long trips. And thats only sometimes. The last trip I made was about 4hrs one way and I didn't turn on the radio at all. It just depends on the day I guess.
