Hello Alta,

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have emailed you about more information for parts to upgrade my R57 cabrio. It seems like parts for my car are either not available or still in development. I would like your intake to put on my car if it is available. I would also like the exhaust. I would just like the cat back portion not the full exhaust that includes the down pipe from the turbo if possible. So in closing could you please tell me what parts are available for my car so I can purchase them and get them here by christmas.

Thanks

David
Hey David,

Thanks for the post and the mail. My apologies if your emails had previously gone unanswered. We do answer all email we receive, and likely a gremlin has taken your email and stuffed it someplace where we couldn't access it.

While I sincerely appreciate the reach out here on NAM, we continue to mention to all clients, we do have other option as well for contacting us. This includes the live chat on both websites (www.ALTAPerformance.com and www.PERRINPerformance.com) and simply giving us a call at 503-693-1702.

I also see the copy of your email and I will reply to that this AM.

Thanks again for choosing ALTA Performance!

Adam

BTW: I just noticed you have an aol.com email address. We will be very unlikely to email you as aol blocks inbound email from commercial entities on a very frequent basis. Please email me directly at adam.taft@ALTAPerformance.com your daytime telephone and any alternative email addresses.

I can second that he does indeed own a telephone and I've never had any trouble getting him to answer it.

Hot side tube rubbing issue?

Hello Adam and all at Alta,

I just purchased your hot side boost tube for my 2011 Mini Cooper S. I just recently found some posts on an issue with the tube rubbing on a part next to where it sits in place... and eventually the rubbing wears down the rubber to create a hole. This post was a while back but before I install it I would like to know if this issue has been resolved.

Hello, sorry for the delay, the current hot side boost tubes are made differently so you won't have the rubbing or fitment issues in the past. You can feel confident that the new hose won't have any issues. Actually even on the old tubes, we got some back that had some rub marks, but we never had one that rubbed enough to make a hole. Thanks!

I just put the hot side on my '09 R56S and notice the hose touches the underside/side of the coolant reservoir tank, some electrical harness for fan, and the transmission (automatic).

The tube is fully seated on both ends, is this normal? Do I just keep an eye on the points where the tube touches the car?

Hello, could you send pictures to me at chris.cone@altaperformance.com? That'll help to determine if it's normal or not. It's still normal to be close or even touching things, but I'd like to see a picture to determine if it's normal or not. Also did you purchase it from us? And when was it purchased, thanks!

I will work on getting those pictures this weekend. I did not purchase it from you as I am a bum and got it through some swapping with a friend. I know it doesn't have a warranty anymore as I am not the original purchaser so I figured it was worth an ask on here but I will shoot you an email with the pics. Thanks for the quick reply.

The two places near the top where it is gently touching are going to be monitors as there isn't anywhere it can be moved to but the bottom part could use some trimming to make it not press back against the tranny.

The pipe does make a little bit of a difference. I installed it while the wife was at a function one night this week. I drove to her, took the car, did the install, and brought it back and she noticed the difference on the way home. So we are both happy.

That's fine, we won't be here during the weekend, so I'll take a look at it on Monday.

have you installed the tube yet. i also have a 2011 mini s and I'm about to attempt the install. At first I moved the reservoir and undid the top clamp... is it possible to reach the muffler bolt from the bonnet of the car? Do you recommend jacking the car up and installing from the bottom?

No ETA quite yet. We are having a supply issue in Germany. Hopefully it'll be within the next month though. Sorry!
